I am very happy to report that Puerto Vallarta is as beautiful and the weather is as perfect as I remembered it! Everyone should really think about taking a vacation here this spring!
Maya and I had a very smooth airport and flight experience. It is much easier to travel with your dog than I realized (easy...but super expensive!!). But of course it was totally worth the money because I love having Maya here with me, and she is loving the Puerto Vallarta weather too!! She was a very good girl both in the airport and on the flight. She only barked once or twice during some turbulence. The rest of the time she just stared at me with very sad eyes, begging me to take her out of the little kennel!!
We were greeted at the airport by a three man welcoming committee (Antonio, Ricky "Oh Yeah" Ricardo, and Eric). After we dropped our luggage and Maya off at Ricardo's apartment, we headed straight to a little restaurant on the beach in Buscerias for nachos, guacamole, fajitas, and a beautiful sunset over the ocean.
The past two days have been spent enjoying downtown Puerto Vallarta and searching for apartments. I saw five apartments yesterday, and I would have happily lived in three of them, so it was a difficult choice. I finally chose a cute little studio apartment with a garden outside the door. It is in a great location about 3 blocks from my school and the beach. Plus the garden is completely enclosed so Maya can play there with no leash. I sign the lease today and move in on Tuesday! Maya and I are super excited!
